Meet Nicole Cannon, Intern
Nicole Cannon is a Clinical Mental Health Counseling intern at The University of Louisiana Monroe. Prior to pursuing a career in counseling, Nicole worked as a postpartum doula and pediatric sleep consultant, partnering with families during the early stages of parenthood. Nicole has completed a certification in Infant Mental Health through the Hospital
for Sick Kids in Toronto and completed a Maternal Mental Health certificate course from Postpartum Support international.
Nicole’s therapeutic approach is rooted in person-centered, cognitive-behavioral and holistic principles, emphasizing the importance of creating a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard, valued, and empowered. Nicole has a special interest in working with women of all ages who are experiencing anxiety, stress, life transitions, identity shifts, and the demands of caregiving.
