Jessica Romano, Intern
Meet Nicole Cannon, Intern
Sometimes life can feel like you are carrying more than you can manage. Between work, family, relationships, and the unexpected challenges life brings, it can be easy to feel overwhelmed, anxious, or simply exhausted from trying to keep everything together. Jessica understands that reaching out for support can be difficult, and she strives to create a warm, welcoming space where clients can feel comfortable being themselves.
Jessica is a Clinical Mental Health Counseling intern at St. Bonaventure University with more than 20 years of experience as an educator. Her years of working with children, adolescents, and families have taught her the importance of listening without judgment, meeting people where they are, and recognizing the strengths they already possess.
Jessica is especially interested in supporting clients experiencing anxiety, stress, life transitions, and feelings of being overwhelmed. She believes that therapy is not about having all the answers or telling someone what they should do. Instead, she sees counseling as a collaborative process where clients can slow down, make sense of what they are experiencing, and discover tools that can help them feel more confident and capable.
Her approach is warm, compassionate, and person-centered. Jessica incorporates cognitive behavioral strategies to help clients understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, while developing healthier ways to cope with stress and difficult emotions.
Most importantly, Jessica wants her clients to know that they do not have to navigate difficult moments
alone. Whether you are feeling anxious, overwhelmed, stuck, or simply looking for a place to talk, she
hopes to provide a space where you feel heard, respected, and supported. Together, Jessica and her clients
can work toward greater self-understanding, resilience, and a stronger sense of balance in everyday life.
